Tale#35: Prophetic Tales: Episode2:The Story of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S)|Tuesday
When the Fire Couldn’t Burn
A tale inspired by the story of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.)
A long, long time ago, in a land of giant temples and towering stone statues, lived a little boy with a big, curious heart. His name was Ibrahim (A.S.).
In his town, everyone bowed before carved idols. They offered food, whispered prayers, and believed those silent stones could protect them.
But not Ibrahim (A.S.).
He would sit quietly, his young eyes wide with wonder. He didn’t laugh or play like the other children during worship. He just... watched. And then came the questions.
“Why do people talk to statues that can’t speak?”
“Can a rock help me when I’m scared?”
“Who made me? Who made the sky... the stars?”
🌌 One quiet night, Ibrahim (A.S.) looked up at the sky. A brilliant star sparkled above him.
His heart skipped a beat. “This star is so bright! Maybe... maybe this is my Lord!”
But after a while, the star faded away.
“No,” he whispered, shaking his head. “My Lord wouldn’t disappear.”
Moments later, the moon rose—huge, white, and glowing softly across the land.
Aha! Maybe this is my Lord! he thought with hope.
But as the night passed, even the moon slipped away.
Then came the morning.
☀️ The sun rose over the hills, lighting up the world with its warmth.
“This must be my Lord! It’s so powerful—it gives light, and life!”
But just like the others... the sun set.
Ibrahim (A.S.) sat on a hilltop, quiet and thoughtful. Then, a spark of truth lit up in his heart—brighter than any star, moon, or sun.
“No,” he said firmly. “None of these vanishings things can be God. My Lord must be the One who created all of them. The One who never disappears, who is always there.”
🌟 And just like that, Ibrahim (A.S.) found the truth.
He believed in Allah—the One true God. The Creator of the stars, the moon, the sun… and everything else in the world.
But this truth came with a challenge.
His people—including his own father—still worshipped statues.
💔 Even when Ibrahim (A.S.) spoke gently, saying:
“Father, why do you worship things that can’t hear or help?”
His father became angry.
“Leave us alone, Ibrahim!” he snapped.
But Ibrahim (A.S.) didn’t give up. He trusted in Allah, and he had a plan.
🪨 One day, when the town was empty—everyone away at a festival—Ibrahim (A.S.) walked quietly into the grand temple.
He stood among the rows of silent statues.
“You don’t speak. You don’t move. You don’t do anything. Why do people think you’re gods?”
Then he did something bold.
He gently broke the smaller idols... and left the largest one standing. In its hands, he placed the axe.
When the townspeople returned and saw the broken statues, they gasped.
“Who did this to our gods?” they cried.
Ibrahim (A.S.) stood calmly and said,
“Ask the big one. He’s holding the axe.”
😳 The people looked at the big idol, speechless.
They knew it couldn’t speak.
Deep down… many of them understood. Ibrahim (A.S.) had made his point.
But instead of changing, they got angry. Furious.
“Burn him!” they shouted. “Build the biggest fire ever!”
🔥 They gathered wood until the fire roared like a monster. It was so hot, birds couldn’t fly over it.
They tied Ibrahim (A.S.) and threw him in.
But right then—right in the middle of the flames—Allah gave a command:
“O fire, be cool and safe for Ibrahim.” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Anbiya 21:69)
And just like that…
💥 The fire obeyed.
The flames didn’t touch him.
Ibrahim (A.S.) stepped out—calm, unharmed, and smiling.
The people were stunned. Some gasped. Others dropped to their knees. Many of them now believed what Ibrahim (A.S.) had believed all along:
That only Allah, the One true God, is worthy of worship.
The One who created the stars, the moon, the sun… and can even turn fire into coolness.
And all of it began because one little boy dared to ask:
“Who is my Lord?”
